I have climbed many mountains, both physically and emotionally. My future took an unexpected turn when I was involved in a life threatening motorcycle accident. This tragedy left me with a fractured spine and partially paralyzed. After intense physical therapy, I joined a gym and immersed myself
into sports and fitness. I realized you only have one life and one body. So you need to take care of it and live your life to the fullest! In 2001, I planned and an exciting climbing expedition to Mongolia. Prior to my trip I was experiencing excruciating back pain. The doctors told me I needed a three level fusion and two discs replaced. I was fitted with a rigid lumbar brace, and determined to accomplish my goal to summit the highest peak in the Altai Mountains. I journeyed to base camp on horseback, absorbing the simple nomadic culture and summit ted the second highest peak and was accredited with a first Canadian female ascent (according to the Mongolians), but my greatest accomplishment was yet to come. After painful spinal surgery and extensive rehab, I decided to leave my high tech job and follow my dream to live in the mountains and become a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor. I attained my certification and moved to Lake Placid, New York. I trained people of all fitness levels and ages, from Olympic athletes, mature adults and physically challenged clients. I am passionate in my beliefs about the benefits of exercise and nutrition and have experienced firsthand what it can do to change your life. I am a testament to what determination, dedication and patience can do. I would not change the path I have been given because it has made me who I am. I feel privileged to have received such a revelation and wish only to share my personal experiences and knowledge to educate, encourage and inspire others to overcome any physical or emotional obstacles they may face.

Diane Trenouth~RYT

Fitness has always been an integral part of Diane’s life and she has enjoyed many kinds of activities over the years. Yoga, however, is her passion. Diane’s interest in yoga began in the spring of 2008
when a chronic pain issue led her to her first yoga class looking for rehabilitation and relief. After a few months she was practicing regularly and enjoying all of the benefits not only for the body, but for the mind and spirit as well. Yoga provides a view inward, to a calm and peaceful way of being. Diane completed her Power Yoga Teacher Training Program, with Laurie Howe and Ichih Wang at
Rama Lotus and is certified to a variety of hatha styles including power and hot yoga. Diane teaches with the belief that the benefits of yoga are accessible to all and encourages everyone to listen to their own body in the space they create on their mat. Diane’s sense of humour and love for yoga shine through while guiding fun, challenging and supportive classes where you will practice to your fullest potential, leaving you with an overall feeling of well-being.

Bodine Waterfire~RYT

Bodine discovered Yoga when training with Constantine Darling’s Chien Lung Movement artists in 1995 while living on Saltspring Island in BC. Many mornings were spent at the Saltspring Yoga center
where the sacredness of the space and beauty of the movements were felt and it resonated deeply. At the time and throughout the years Yoga was just a
complement to other physical endeavors and would come and go. While pregnant with her first child Bodine realized Yoga was something more and wanted to seek and explore it’s heath benefits. After her second child was born and weaned, she found herself feeling physically broken and emotionally exhausted with pelvic ligament injuries and
unable to move her neck .Bodine found herself at the door of Santosha yoga where began to practice regularly. In July of 2010 she attended Barron
Baptiste’s “foundation’s in action ” to deepen her practice and gratefully learned that teaching was her true calling, believing to her core and from
firsthand experience ,that yoga’s transformative and restorative powers can heal the body , mind and spirit when practiced with awareness and from the
heart. Bodine wanted to share the true gifts of yoga with others, and June 2011 completed her 6 month, 200 hour Power Yoga Teacher training with Ichih Wang and Laurie Howe at Rama Lotus Yoga center. Bodine is excited to be able help others discover their inner power and healing abilities with Yoga.
